MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST
NOEMI HOLBRECHT
Hi, my name is Noémi and I'm so glad you found your way here.
I am a Belgian artist currently exploring emotions through painting. Through my pieces, I invite us to see the beauty that’s already inside of us and cultivate more love towards ourselves.
After living in London for almost a decade, I recently moved back home and now live happily in Brussels with my supportive husband and my furry baby, Leo.
My story
My dad has always said to me ‘tu es bien la fille de ton père” whenever he would see a painting of mine (proudly meaning that I take after him).
I would even argue that it is first my grandfather who must have gifted me with his creative spark. Both photo editors (before computers), they used to take me with them to their studio. No need to say that from a young age, I found myself immersed in a creative environment. And when I wasn’t watching them, I spent the rest of my time minding my own creative practice. Most pictures of my childhood are of me drawing.
As the years went on, they saw their jobs in advertising lost to computers and my dad declined the advice of many of my school teachers suggesting I should go to art school.
In 2020, I felt drowned to pick up a watercolour brush. That day was just the beginning. That year I reconnected with my creativity on a deeper level and decided to finally follow in my family’s footsteps.
Four years later, I found a passion in painting humans with a deep interest for female forms. I graduated from the Milan art institute in 2023 and have this year graduated from the London Art Academy.
“Art helps me express a part of my soul that still deeply wishes to be acknowledged”
My process
I am a fervent believer that our sensitivity is a beautiful gift to have! Capturing emotions has become a priority in my work. Through my practice, my mission is to find and highlight the unseen beauty inside of us.
I hope my paintings can be a reminder for my collectors that what’s inside of them is beautiful and enough.
Having always been on the shy and quiet side, Art is today a way for me to practice my voice and courage. It truly helps me express a part of my soul that still deeply wishes to be acknowledged.
My work is about celebrating women as the centre of my practice with collaborations, storytelling and community.
